SOFTWARE DEVELOPER APPRENTICESHIP

We are recruiting for businesses to take on apprentices!

Are you in need of a Software Developer? Have you thought about taking on an apprentice?

Here at the Digital Skills Academy, we are looking to work with businesses to take on Software Developers from our talent pool. We will work closely with you to understand your needs and requirements to place a suitable candidate in your existing team.

Benefits of having a software developer in your business

Being able to develop your own software can give many benefits for a business:

  • Improved efficiencies in order processing, invoicing, managing sales data and logistical planning
  • Better security of your digital operation protecting you from hacking, cyber-attacks and malware
  • Increased use of data related to customers and orders to highlight sales opportunities and the possibility of order efficiencies
  • Being able to pivot to e-commerce and more online trading to meet customer needs or open up new market opportunities
  • Improving your overall business systems to make them more secure, easier to use, better for sharing knowledge and information and focused on delivering high quality customer service

What is an apprenticeship?

An Apprenticeship is a cost-effective way to build your team, improve the skills within your organisation, set up succession plans and improve business growth through increased productivity and better customer service outcomes.

Taking on an apprentice not only keeps relevant skills and knowledge within your business but also brings in new thinking and ideas that are relevant to your industry sector.

There is no age limit on apprentices. They can join your company straight from school or college. Many add to their university education with an apprenticeship programme. You might also benefit from taking more mature candidates who want to expand their career options or change career direction completely.

Benefits to your business

Did you know as an employer you can also receive funding from the government to help pay for apprenticeship training. The amount received depends on whether the organisation pays the apprenticeship levy or not. You pay the levy if you’re an employer with a payroll of over £3 million each year.

Employer feedback on the positive impacts that apprentices can make includes:

  • 86% of employers said apprenticeships helped them develop skills relevant to their organisation
  • 78% of employers said apprenticeships helped them improve productivity
  • 74% of employers said apprenticeships helped them improve the quality of their product or service
