About the Course

The CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) is an IT workforce certification that applies behavioural analytics to networks and devices to prevent, detect and combat cybersecurity threats through continuous security monitoring.

What Is a Cybersecurity Analyst?

A Cybersecurity Analyst detects cyber threats and then implements changes to protect an organisation in the following ways:

  • Manages and configures tools to monitor activity on the network
  • Analyses the reports from those tools to identify unusual behaviour on the network
  • Proactively identifies network vulnerabilities through penetration testing, vulnerability scans and vulnerability assessment reports
  • Plans and recommends changes to increase the security of the network
  • Applies security patches to protect the network

The CompTIA CySA+ course applies behavioural analytics to networks to improve the overall state of security. This is managed by identifying and combating malware and advanced persistent threats, resulting in an enhanced threat visibility across a broad attack surface. The course will also validate an IT professional’s ability to proactively defend and continuously improve the security of an organisation.

Jobs that use CySA+ include:

  • Threat intelligence Analyst
  • Vulnerability Analyst
  • Cybersecurity Specialist

About the course

CompTIA Security+ is an international, vendor-neutral certification that validates the baseline skills necessary to perform core security functions and pursue an IT security career.

Why is it different?

– No other certification that assesses baseline cybersecurity skills has performance-based questions on the exam. Security+ emphasises hands-on practical skills, ensuring the security professional is better prepared to problem solve a wider variety of issues
– More choose Security+ for DoD 8570 compliance than any other certification
– Focuses on the latest trends and techniques in risk management, risk mitigation, threat management and intrusion detection
– The new Security+ certification covers the Junior IT Auditor/Penetration Tester job role, in addition to the previous job roles for Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, and Security Administrator

CompTIA Security+ is the first security certification IT professionals should earn. It establishes the core knowledge required of any cybersecurity role and provides a springboard to intermediate-level cybersecurity jobs. Security+ incorporates best practices in hands-on trouble-shooting to ensure security professionals have practical security problem-solving skills. Cybersecurity professionals with Security+ know how to address security incidents – not just identify them.

CompTIA Security+ develops the skills you need to perform core security functions and pursue an IT security career.
